We are a member society of The Arts Society which has more than 300 societies in the UK and abroad, and more than 90,000 members in the UK.

The Arts Society Dorking meets on the second Tuesday of the month from October to July in the Martineau Hall of Dorking Halls. Meetings start at 10.30am (10.15am JULY ONLY FOR OUR AGM) and finish around 12 noon. Please make sure you have purchased a parking ticket for enough time as lectures have been known to over-run.

Doors open at 9.30am and members usually arrive in good time to buy a cup of coffee from the Dorking Halls coffee bar.

The Arts Society Dorking currently has about 340 members and the annual membership fee is £50 per person. There is no charge for members attending the monthly lecture.

Members may bring guests to lectures, other visitors are welcome.  Please contact  Tricia Smart 07921 190346   or   membershiptasd@gmail.com at least 24 hours beforehand.  In some instances, it may be necessary to restrict numbers, so please make sure you speak to Linda in advance. Admission for guests is £10 per lecture.

Please come early to register as registrations will close when we reach 210 persons (the maximum seating capacity for the hall). We do ask members to consider others and limit any seats they reserve to themselves and, perhaps, a companion while they have coffee.

OUR TICKET SALES POLICY

At each meeting tickets are sold for visits and study days. Tickets go on sale two months prior to the event. Tours are booked through a travel agent and application forms can be obtained at the meetings.

Our members may purchase tickets for events in person at the meetings. After the first month's lecture, postal applications will be opened. No reservations of tickets will be made before the tickets go on sale to all our members, so advance requests cannot be dealt with.

All tickets are NON-TRANSFERABLE. If you cannot attend an event for which you have purchased tickets, please do not hand them on to anyone else without first speaking to the Visit Secretary (as he nearly always has a list of people waiting for returns). You will only receive a refund if the ticket is re-sold.
